Data Deletion Policy

Last updated 10 August 2026

EaseOfBiz is committed to your right to control your personal data, in line with applicable data protection law including India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act (DPDP). This page explains how to delete your account, what happens when you do, and what a small amount of data must be retained for.

You can request permanent deletion directly from your account — no email to support is required.

  1. Log in to your EaseOfBiz account.
  2. Go to Studio → Account.
  3. Scroll to “Delete your account” and confirm your password.

Requesting deletion starts a 7-day grace period, not an instant deletion. You can cancel the request at any time before it elapses, from the same Account page, and nothing is removed. This exists so a request made in frustration, or by someone who briefly lost access to your account, doesn't cost you your permanent professional record by mistake.

Once the grace period elapses, our team completes the deletion. We don't run it as a fully unattended automatic process — a short manual confirmation step stands between the grace period ending and your data actually being anonymized, so a stuck or erroneous request can be caught before it's irreversible.

  • Handle released: your @handle is freed immediately and becomes available for someone else to claim. Your public profile URL stops resolving.
  • Personal data cleared: your display name, bio, city, niche, avatar, external links, FAQ, and uploaded media are removed. Your email, Google sign-in link, and password are cleared.
  • Sessions revoked: every active login session is immediately signed out.
  • Removed from discovery: your profile no longer appears in search or brand discovery.

EaseOfBiz maintains a verified professional collaboration graph. If you've verified a credit on someone else's project, deleting your account doesn't delete their project or remove your contribution from its history — your credit stays, but with your identifying details replaced by “Deleted account” instead of a link to an active profile. This preserves the accuracy of other people's verified histories without keeping your personal data linked to them.

If you used EaseOfBiz Commerce to sell services, accept bookings, or make purchases, we're legally required to retain transaction records — order IDs, amounts, and commission data — for a minimum of 8 years to comply with Indian tax, accounting, and anti-money-laundering regulations. These records are decoupled from your public profile; we keep only what a regulatory audit requires, not your bio or portfolio.

While your public data is removed as soon as deletion completes, encrypted remnants may persist in routine server backups for up to 90 days before being overwritten. These backups are strictly access-controlled and are never used to restore a deleted account.

If you've never registered on EaseOfBiz but your name appears on a public-record profile seeded from published sources (for example, a YouTube channel or a public filmography), you can request removal of your identifying information — your name from the profile, or a contact email stored against it. Credits verified by two independent parties are part of our immutable collaboration graph; where removing your identity would orphan another party's verified credit, we retain that credit in fully anonymised form instead of deleting it outright.

Email privacy@easeofbiz.com with the subject “Non-User Profile Removal Request”, your full name as it appears on the profile, and the profile URL. We verify and respond within 30 days.

If you'd rather take ownership of the credits attributed to you than remove them, you can claim your profile instead — every credit transfers to your verified account.

For manual assistance, lost account access, or a request on behalf of a deceased or incapacitated user, contact our Data Protection Officer: legal@easeofbiz.com.
