About
XLRI — Xavier School of Management, Jamshedpur — is India's oldest business school, founded in 1949 by Jesuit fathers in the Tata steel city, a decade before the first IIM. Its two-year PGDM (Business Management) consistently ranks among India's top five B-school programmes, while its PGDM (Human Resource Management) is ranked #1 in India and among the best in Asia — HR leadership across corporate India is disproportionately XLRI-trained. Admission is through XAT (the Xavier Aptitude Test that XLRI itself conducts for 100+ B-schools), among India's toughest MBA entrance exams. XLRI's ethics-centred "For the Greater Good" philosophy, its Father Prodipta McGrath-era legacy of labour relations education, and a 15,000+ alumni network across CHRO and CEO offices make it one of Indian management's most storied institutions.
